The mighty Golden Boy lives and rules in the Okavango Delta in Southern Africa, where I photographed him. Then, having converted the photo to black and white, I start a series of layers, bringing Bushman (Khoi) rock art and contemporary graffiti to integrate ancient and modern forms of expression. In this vibrant piece. I used diverse mediums like spray paint, alcohol-based ink, and acrylic pens to bring out nature's raw, spirited essence, clashing with the urban graffiti elements that represent human encroachment. This artwork speaks to the harmonious yet tense relationship between nature and civilization, a dynamic aura sure to provoke thought and conversation in any space. Inspired by my love of the bushveld, Khoisan art and graffiti

Ann is a vibrant and prolific artist, wildlife photographer, and author. She was voted in 2020 as one of South Africa's top artists. She initially became known for her ‘ewe/sheep’ series of work. Whilst maintaining her ironic humor she has painted a number of other series of works, including ‘Wild Life’ ‘Zulu Lulu’ and 'Going to the Dogs series. A recurring theme in her work is a play on words and the use of popular jargon. Her quirky, humorous, yet profoundly insightful art, allows the viewer not only to laugh at themselves but to examine many of the absurd aspects of life.
