The Helmet Print

This a scene from the stop motion shoot I made based on my screenplay "love at War" for an animation test. The animation was made traditionally on paper, then traced onto paper, watercolored and cut out. The cut outs were then place on a multi platform to create 3 dimension. The background was build out of mix medias to create depth when filming. The set was dismantled therefore only prints are available. The idea came from a story my grandmother told me about her first kiss. As the American soldier were liberating Paris and she shared a first kiss with a soldier. From here sparked the "Love at War" story. The tale is about a young man who is sent abroad to fight a war against an army of evil wolf creatures in the land of Europa. In his travel he meets a calico kitten that will never leave his side. He then meets a beautiful girl he falls in love with. But they will be separated by the war before finding a way to survive and be reunited. I work mainly with watercolors, I love the lightness of the medium. These illustrations are part of creating an entire world, characters and a story along with it.
