The Lovers Print - Limited Edition of 10

Standing in NYC's Times Square subway station. I was on my way to an all-night grocery store near 72nd street. Glancing down the tracks to see if a train was coming, I noticed, twenty feet further down the platform, a slim, attractive woman stroking the bearded face of a man I assumed to be her lover. As she rested her forehead against his she quietly, but urgently pleaded with him. Though he did not pull away and his arms were around her waist, his body language seemed to convey that he was uncomfortable and unyielding to her requests. Was he breaking up with her? Moving away from New York City? There was a sense of ending between them that I felt the urge to capture. In the portrait at first not noticed, we see a man standing next to the lovers, stoically looking straight ahead with the pure New York City attitude of "Minding my own business." though he is very aware of what is going on next to him. At the forefront of the picture, behind a heavy structural steel beam, we see a young woman looking at her cell phone, earbuds in place, seemingly oblivious, yet perhaps keenly aware of the drama unfolding just a few feet away.
