The River is a mosaic assemblage made from ceramic, tiles, found objects and plaster. It is abstract but has a flowing style and energy. Studied art my entire life and am now focusing on photography. I have two current series of work, both inspired by the urban landscape. The first, Urban Montage, evolves from by the transience and impermanence of street art. Concentrating on the evolving nature of layered graffiti, I strive to capture a timeline of competing efforts and messages eroded by weather and time. The photographs create a totally new and self-contained art image that is not manipulated or changed in any way - it just is as it is on the street - and hopefully this allows the viewer to see something beautiful and haunting in what might otherwise be seen as blight and decay. The second, Portaits in Motion, explores the individual in place among the many that captures a point in time. Where are we in the universe? How does our presence change the environment (or not)?
