ABOUT THE ARTWORK

The digital creation is from a black and white photo I took in 2016 from a pin-up portrait class. I came across it while cleaning out my closet. I always enjoyed the smile and the sideways glance on the model. However, the focus was off, coupled with motion blur. So the photo went into the discard pile. Reviewing the picture and seeing how we lit her up, it was like she had an inner radiance. It reminded me of a person created by light. So she became the Sun Goddess. She was stepping out from her throne in the Sun and checking on her solar system children. I also found inspiration from recent images from the James Web Telescope. If anyone wants a signed copy, I'm printing her on Hahnemühle German Etching as a 16x24. Place your order here, and I can send her rolled up in a tube. German Etching is s a traditional mold-made copperplate printing paper, complete with an inkjet coating designed especially for FineArt. When it arrives, you'll notice the paper has a curve. It will lay flat once correctly framed. You can also order reprints here via Saatchi. Drop me a line if you have any questions.
