Bio Anthony E. Boone is a self-taught mixed media artist, sculptor, and designer whose work blends intuition, movement, and raw materiality. A retired freight train conductor with 28 years of service, Boone brings a meditative sense of observation and structure to his artmaking—skills honed through years spent reading the rhythm of tracks and terrain. His artistic journey began in 2005, sparked by a visit to an art show. Drawing upon a background in house painting and a family legacy of craftsmanship, Boone began painting and experimenting with found materials, using unconventional tools such as scrapers, rocks, and even spoons to channel organic expressions of form, energy, and story. Influenced early by mentorship from art professor Max Adams, Boone embraced freedom over formality—anchored by his core belief: "There are no rules in painting." His major works include the evolving “Atmospheric” series, the concentric-circle inspired “13”, and the accessible “Follow Your Dreams” mini-painting project. His work has been featured across the New York/New Jersey art scene and internationally, including a commissioned public work for LeFrak in Jersey City and a residency at Mana Contemporary through the Eileen S. Kaminsky Family Foundation (ESKFF). Boone’s paintings have also taken shape as fashion collaborations and wearable art, extending his message of accessibility and purpose. His work continues to evolve naturally, shaped by curiosity, instinct, and connection.
