I was inspired to create a series of works “Hands-states” by the mystical energy of hands. Even as a child, I understood their significance. Breaking taboos and satisfying my immense curiosity, hands introduced me to the world. Everything that my hands created always left an emotional imprint. I know that in my hands there is an inexhaustible source of knowledge and energy. In my series I wanted to show that hands connect our inner world with the outer world. What they are able to express love and tenderness as well as hatred and malice. I wanted people to feel how cleansing and liberation from emotional passions occurs through the hands. While exploring the theme of hands, I used a tactile and plastic material (plasticine) that is capable of recording the emotional trace of the hand. When bare fingers imprint all the emotional energy of a person, forming an abstract form in the outside world. Fingerprints left on the material form textured abstractions. Hands, conductors of emotional states, create, saving a person from internal destruction.
