ABOUT THE ARTWORK

During the months of March, April and May, 2020, isolated because of the global pandemic. I took it upon myself to do a series of art works Cento Giorni di Solitudine - One Hundred Days of Solitude - The works consist of acrylic paint on art paper. Each measuring 8.5 x 11 inches. Signed En Verso. Having no possibility of obtaining additional materials at the time, the series is an exercise in color combinations using the limited palette that I had on hand. The works displayed here are just a few from the series.

Filmmaker, sculptor, painter, photographer and printmaker. Moran de Musée is a multi-disciplinary Artist. He studied art is Italy and Southern California. Early in his career he devoted considerable time on still photography to express himself. In time, however, he turned away from photography and began to experiment with other media. As the artist explains, the process was liberating: 'Returning to Los Angeles in 1998, I questioned completely all of the theories of my past work, asking what ideas were mine and what were those of the overpowering influences of past artists. To redefine my work, I had return to the basics of the visual and sculptural languages and to remove all narrative and historical references in my pursuit of pure form in sculpture. I was without the facilities o carve stone so I concentrated on drawing and experimenting with other materials to use in sculpture." - Curator David Opalinski, The Parkview Collection Questions for the artist:
