This is an image of the first house my parents bought. It had 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, and a pool. About the Artist

An Mien Nguyen

United States

I am a traditional and digital artist focused on a single, ongoing body of work called The Immigration Series. This series re-creates my family photos as we journey from refugee camp to repatriation back to Vietnam, and finally, as we settle in the United States. During the process of remaking these photos, I investigate the tension between childhood memory and mythos, immigration and identity, and how diaspora leaves its imprints on future generations.
