Shahina Jaffer is an artist, TEDx speaker, creative practitioner, researcher, and art engagement consultant, specialising in abstract art and observation. She is also the founder of , a growing community of artists united to make a difference through their work. Art-curious since childhood, Shahina began painting and sewing at the age of three, continuing to utilise her ambidextrous abilities in her creative process today. Her work focuses on movement and perception—an intrigue shaped by her successful career in consumer marketing. A graduate of Central Saint Martins with a deep understanding of human behaviour, Shahina’s art centres on “the encounter”—that crucial moment between artist and viewer. She believes art should be an interactive experience that invites viewers to explore their own perceptions and unlock their imaginations. Her signature technique, a “reverse Jackson Pollock,” allows her to explore fluidity and movement without boundaries. Through this approach, she investigates “the line of invisibility,” probing what lies between the seen and unseen. To further enhance accessibility, she incorporates texture, making her work engaging for those with visual impairments as well. Though abstract, Shahina’s work combines imagination, nature, and scientific precision, transcending traditional boundaries to reveal subtle messages. This approach invites a deeper engagement from viewers—or even those who experience her work by touch. Her art seeks to expand imagery beyond the mind’s usual limits, fostering discovery through both sensation and perspective.
