ABOUT THE ARTWORK

Fingerprint of the beautiful desert sky in Los Angeles on June 1st of 2023 as part of the 2023 collection. My paintings depict the desert sunrises as they transform into intangible color gradients with each passing minute. I aim to capture the gradual shift of hues in the morning sky - a daily spectacle that's gifted to all but experienced by only a few. My painting practice involves deep meditation and the meticulous training of the eyes to observe these ever-changing colors, thus creating a color-coded experience. With this collection, I'm creating scenes that invite viewers to moments of peaceful introspection. The painting will come framed. Upon purchase you can choose between white, black and natural oak wood frame colors. (All frames are made with read wood).

Colombian Artist based in California. My work is inspired by the constant change we perceive with the passing of time. Most people approach art as a tool for personal expression, so the artist can share their perspective, vision or opinion about any given subject. I believe, art is not an outlet for us artists to “create” an opinion. Instead I think about it as a way of understanding what’s around us and making sense of it. Just like musicians make up melodies and lyrics that relate to their experiences to generate a deeper understanding of how they are processing that experience, or like dogs understand their surroundings through smell, I believe the artist understands the world by observing, feeling, and by perpetuating that feeling through painting or drawing or other technique. It is a very intimate and personal process that allows us artists to get to know ourselves so much better.
