ABOUT THE ARTWORK

Story about the painting: I finished this painting a few days before the 22nd anniversary of the terrorist attacks on the USA on September 11, 2001. At a time when the relentless war in Ukraine is raging on the border with Hungary, my homeland. I feel that in those 22 years the world has not improved at all and evil is still actively pushing its horns. The painting is a symbolic memento that warns against war and aggression. An iron rod sticking out of a piece of concrete expresses the idea of how easily solid reinforced concrete structures can become just a piece of waste in war due to human malice and hatred. It warns of the fragility of our being, which can easily find itself in ruins due to boundless aggression. War leaves only rubble of scrap metal and concrete. The drop of water on the painting symbolically expresses the tears of sadness over this devastation. The painting is dedicated to all victims of wars and terrorist attacks.

I have been interested in visual arts and music since childhood. Painting in particular has always been a key element of my life. Whenever I could, I painted. In my youth, however, I didn't think that art could support me, so I graduated from an economics university and then worked in the hotel industry for 10 years in a well-paid management position. However, I felt more and more that I was not following the right path. I needed to express my visual creativity, imagination. That's why I graduated from an art university and fully returned to my age-old passion - painting. In my work, I tried to paint through the eyes of the masters of academia. The Hungarian masters of the 20th century István Sándorfy, Zsolt Bodoni, László Nyári and Tibor Csernus, had a great influence on me. Gradually, however, I found my style, my means of expression. Now I know for sure that I am going the right way, my unique way. I can let my wild imagination run free and paint works that are of interest all over the world. Sometimes so much so that I can barely keep up in time. My style is very laborious and demanding, and you can't finish a painting in a few days. But I am happy that I have it and that I can devote myself to it fully.
