About The Artwork
90 Mile Beach is an epic stretch of wild coast about 200 km from Melbourne, Australia. This artwork is part of the Dune series and showcases the delicate ancient coastlines, the swirling broken seashells and banks of sand held back by tussocks of wild grass and driftwood. The muted tones of beige, cream and light brown offset the metallic copper highlights. The copper leaf changes from a warm light copper to a deeper burnished tone depending on the angle of light. The copper makes a striking combination with the shades of deep moss, a dark smokey blue-green, deep brown and charcoal black. This large artwork ships in a roll If you prefer it ship ready to hang on a stretcher please contact me for an price. The full un-stretched dimensions are 32.5 x 32.5 inches/ 83 x 83cm - so the final size on a deep edge (4cm) canvas stretcher would be approximately 24inch x 24inch / 61 x 61 cm. I paint, I create and make things that make me happy. Sounds simple enough... but maybe that's what it should be. I was born in Ireland, grew up in Zimbabwe and have lived in the UK,USA and Australia. Meeting new people and exploring where I live inspires much of my work. I create in a medium appropriate to the inspiration. My artwork finds expression in oils, acrylics, charcoal, mixed media and glass. I use print making, stenciling, texture, fabric and transfers to create multi-layered tactile pieces. You will find my unique artwork in offices, hotels, homes, bars and restaurants in Australia, Europe, USA, Canada, China, Singapore and Southern Africa. I have 14 years of experience consulting on various international projects where the work was created to specification as the majority of the projects required custom made artwork. I understand how to evaluate and select materials that align with aesthetics, compliance and individual needs. I am very comfortable with collaborating on a brief and love the cross pollination of ideas that result from co-designing art work.
