A Life Time Banquet – Dahlia in a Tea Cup By HSIN LIN 51 x 41 x 1.5 cm 04/03/2020 Artwork painted extend to Side panels as photo shown. Artist Acrylic on Acid free canvas. Sealed with clear spray varnish. Signed and ready to hang. Comes with certificate of authenticity. This is another challenge that I set for myself. I painted the same setting in similar concept that I've painted 2 years ago but in different perspective, and it end up pretty well that I love every single detail of it. Dahlia flowers symbolise elegance, inner strength, creativity, change, and dignity. They are also known to represent one who stands strong in his/her sacred values. Here it is a life time banquet on the table. Somebody left, somebody stay. If I am lucky enough to sit by your side, allow me to give you all my heart with full bloom. - A Life Time Banquet – Dahlia in a Tea Cup (2020) By HSIN LIN The giant Dahlia in full bloom placed in an empty cup, as well as the blank menu on the right-hand side meaning although we will never know what is written in the future for us, but we will see light if we hang on to hope. The symbolism of the dahlia flower is often related to travelling and changes. However, Dahlia flowers always symbolise positive changes that are about to happen in lives. The entrée fork is missing in this artwork means that you are now ready for the main course. Always remember you have all the strength you need for what is going to happen next and you are now ready for the best. Salute to the golden age, Bon Appétit! Artwork inspired by Melbourne International Flower and Garden Show. Original Artwork painted on Melbourne, Victoria, Autumn 2020. -HSIN LIN

HSIN LIN, Award-winning Artist based in Melbourne, Australia. In Hsin Lin’s ongoing, signature contemporary floral series that feature native and common flowers we know, flowers represent life and each different type of flower has a unique symbolic meaning. Lin is inspired by her close observation of the natural world. Through a process of careful looking Lin is able to capture an incredible amount of intricate detail. To create the larger-scale work, Lin normally spends 6-12 months developing the intricate composition. The fine details such as the tiny petals have been developed through ten or more layers of paint. Lin describes that ‘although still-life is considered a traditional genre, each object in the paintings stands for a different meaning and has its own story. Flowers represent us as humans, vases represent the body carrying our soul, protecting us like a shield. The weaving basket stands for connections—the bonds between families, friends and all the people around us. Even if you are apart, everyone is still being linked together as a whole and we are stronger together.’ Lin’s paintings, a series of flowers in full bloom, remind us that we are alive and that life is vibrant, blossoming and full of potential.
