Marisa Rheem was born in 1989 in Washington D.C., USA. She currently lives in the Bay Area and works as an art consultant at a pop art gallery in the Financial District of San Francisco, CA. She received her BFA in Studio Art in 2014 from the Institute of American Indian Arts in Santa Fe, NM. Marisa has received awards for her artwork, and has had her artwork displayed in multiple juried group shows, as well as in public and private collections. In November 2019, Marisa debuted her series “Impermanent Fascination,” her first solo exhibition which premiered in Oakland, CA. Her second solo exhibition, "Momentary Captivation," is displayed at the International Art Museum of America in San Francisco from November 2 - December 28, 2020. Most recently, Marisa's work has been accepted into the de Young Museum for a juried group show titled, "de Young Open" from October 10, 2020 - January 3, 2021. 6,188 artists submitted a total of 11,514 individual works to the museum with only 762 artists selected and just 877 artworks on view. You can find both Marisa's paintings "All Gussied Up" #616 in Gallery 7 and "Hang on Guys, I Need a Quick Breather" #22 in Gallery 1. This show is a MUST see!
