SHIPPING AND RETURNS

In 2008, a visiting artist from France came to our university. Her presence was quiet, but her way of seeing changed something in me. She believed in listening to stillness-the silence of objects, the invisible life of things we pass each day without noticing. She sketched them not as they appeared,...

For years, I have sketched from direct observation—capturing my surroundings wherever I happened to be, whether at a birthday, a funeral, a wedding, or simply while sitting in a restaurant. This practice is not about performance or product; it is about presence. Drawing, for me, is an act of archiving—preserving fleeting moments that, in one way or another, have shaped who I am. I believe that to draw is to see—truly see—the world and one’s place within it. I do not draw for the marketplace. I do not take commissions, nor do I regularly exhibit or sell my work through galleries. These drawings are personal documents, and only a select few are shared publicly. My intention is not to make my drawings widely accessible, but to place them in the hands of those who will protect them. My work is a promise to the collector: this artist will never stop producing. I haven’t stopped for the last two decades. It is not my bread and butter- it is my bread and vine. This is not a venture. I’m not trying—I’m doing it.
