ABOUT THE ARTWORK

With dedicated interest, I am studying the myths and legends of the friendly American-Indian people. Their advanced spiritual status reflected in their culture, is a gold mine of subject matter for the discerning artist and art collector. The Apache and his Wolf allies show the moment of intense concentration before the arrow is released that will bring down the game to feed his family! The stealth, which was necessary to get to this point, was duplicated in his mind, from the ghostly wolf allies next to him. Acrylic lost and found lines and color was implemented to capture the gossamer, spiritual realms of the netherworlds behind him. The rock faces show drawings of former successful hunts in this region. New style, no frame necessary. Rounded canvas on quarter-round frame with colored ply back plate. Frame could be added onto this. This design is very strong and durable. hanging provided.

NICO P L VOSLOO 21 Century Renaissance Man FINE ARTIST- SCULPTOR- ENGINEER- SEA CAPTAIN- INVENTOR- HUMANITARIAN When you think about the time art was thriving the most, who do you think of from the renaissance in Europe?..... Leonardo, Michelangelo, Galileo, Fibonacci, Copernicus, Raphael and other greats. In our current century there are those few artists versed in literature, fine art, science, mathematics as well as anatomy and [as a College Lecturer] all the fine art techniques. Like the Renaissance, they are inventing things well ahead of their time and with an aesthetic eye. We are fortunate to have one in the USA now, from his home country of South Africa. Truly creating for all people no matter what color, he is internationally famous for his fine art paintings of animals, Zulu dancers, and figuring out how to paint underwater with scuba diving gear to capture the underwater universe. BBC Television filmed it and he is also well known for something else. His 3D-Tactile paintings made into raised 3- Dimensional molds for the blind, so they can actually feel an animal, a place, a shape, or any object and even "read" a globe and understand their world better. His concern for others shows in his research into native plants, their medicinal uses as well as essential oils to increase good health. It was not always easy if you know about the African witchdoctors and how they spread superstition. They do have knowledge of remedies that can help cure illnesses but rarely share this.
