Paola Correa De Albury My creative journey has taken some unusual twists and turns. I was born and raised in Bogotá Colombia and worked in the field of marketing and advertising. In 2004, After living for two years in Panamá, I embarked on a life changing adventure looking for new inspiration found through the camera lens. This motivation took me to New Zealand where I started my teaching career. Once there I also had the opportunity to travel to Asia where, amazed by the new sceneries, I started creating graphic pieces depicting every day beautiful images that locals take for granted. My thirst for experiencing diverse cultures, people, landscapes and environments kept me traveling. I backpacked through South America, Central America, New York, Europe and the Caribbean collecting memories and awareness of unusual, ancient, local art. In 2006 I landed on Bahamian soil and fell in love with the people, colors and forms of these islands. Currently, the Bahamian lifestyle has gifted me with the time and the space to reflect on those inspirations and create my paintings in acrylic on canvas. I hope to remind the beauty of our natural surroundings and encourages to appreciate them from the perspective of a traveler.
