ABOUT THE ARTWORK
I start with a vague idea of the end painting because spontaneity is key,I do have an idea of the motion, or gestures I will use for the paint to deliver a design I’m looking for and so the colors become very important. It’s the shape and color that I need to deliver . The earth has been and will continue to be my larges inspiration. These are earthy but somewhat modern chic. The surface is completely flat, as in no texture. The paintings look like they are textured but no. There are subtle mark making techniques in each that lend to the earthy qualities. These painting are quite and sophisticated.

I have grown up in Atlanta where I live now. There seems to be not just a few artist exsintrics in my family and I tend to be that unconventional type myself. I attended scad in the 80s and have a BFA. I have been selling art work sense but really cranked up my game about 15 years ago. I paint or create everyday, it's my life! Being as prolific as I am I enjoy several styles, inpiticularly abstract landscape, large abstract color fields and the heavily textured pieces posted. Though the styles are different they have a drawn from nature aspect and color theme I don't seem to be able to shake.
