When I was a teenager, I spent the summer at my grandmother's dacha. And sometimes we went fishing at dawn. We fished on wooden bridges and fed the fish dough with sunflower oil. Early mornings in July were always languid, fluid and sluggish. Around are lush thickets of reeds and mirror river water, which barely moved. There were few fish, so for us it was a pleasant ritual of contact with nature and consolation. More like meditation. We left when the sun began to burn and fry us like a fish in a frying pan. Fishing with grandma didn't have asian patterns, but when I look at this painting, I end up going back to that summer. Happy short episodes of my life. We shared the fish we caught with the local cats, it was a fun, carefree time. The time of light thoughts and beauty around.
