About The Artwork

Inspired by Acapulco night fiesta. This abstract painting has no bottom or top. I can be displayed with any of its four sides as the bottom. The signature has been placed over one of the corners of the painting. Acrylic painting on a stretched canvas, ready to hang, doesn't require frame (but of course you can add a frame if you like). Varnished with a good quality UV resistant archival varnish to reduce the effects of UV light on colors. Supplied with Certificate of Authenticity.

I am originally from Mexico but married an Englishman and have lived in England for almost 30 years. I have a Master Degree in Mathematics. I have been a University Lecturer and I have done extensive work on computer programming . My Mother was a jeweller and my brother is a sculptor. My first incursion in the Art world was through jewellery, I grew up helping Mum making jewellery from an early age. I made (and still make some) sterling silver pieces combining them with fused and dichroic glass, semi-precious stones, hand painted silk set in resin, crystals, pearls, etc. Because of my Mexican heritage the use of colour comes natural to me, this is reflected both in my jewellery and my paintings. As for my paintings, I love the qualities of liquid paint and I try to reflect their fluidity and movement in my pieces. I also like their playful nature, pay my abstracts some attention and soon you will be identifying birds, creatures, plants, humans, etc in them. I live by the sea and the sea often features in my paintings. Nature in general is a powerful inspiration source for me. As an artist, I aim to create Art that conveys a message of celebration of life and nature, of vitality, of spontaneity, a positive view of life and the constant movement and change associated with it. Ecology and the protection of our natural resources is a subject that often features in my Art. Working with mixed media allows me to be always exploring, always innovating. I have had my pieces exhibited in multiple fayres and venues. During all the month of July 2023 I had a solo exhibition of my paintings at Athelhampton House, a historic house in Dorset, England. I have also some of my pieces exhibited at 'Art Unlimited' Gallery in Bridport, England. I hope you like my art and enjoy my pieces as much as I enjoy creating them.
