Is there an object/ food that describe you best? I’m a full time mother, also an artist. I struggled to find the time to be both. Becoming a mother completely changed my entire world. I didn’t knew it would be that difficult. I didn’t knew we wouldn’t get much sleep. I was constantly exhausted and feeling guilty for every little thing. I still had no idea what was coming! Sunny Side Up as a representative of myself - the life experience of my current. There are days you get a perfect well cooked yolk, or burnt at the sides, or runny yolk etc. From a distance, the yolk looks like a shining sun full of positivity. The many yolks brimming with joy. I want this series to make my audience feel good, elevate their mood and be inspired. I am hoping one day I can install these works with the clear sky as my background to let audience experience “a break from their mind” and allows them to focus on my eggs. I aim to hope that few minutes of relaxation could improve their mental fatigue and well-being. Sunny side up, a sustainability project - Used cardboard, newspaper and supermarket leaflets are the things I have at home. The everyday objects tell stories who we are and where we come from. Sunny side up on these materials is also acting as documenting the point of time where I am and what's happening around in my life. Artwork is uniquely created per my mood and emotions, cannot be duplicated. Artwork is framed. - Artwork is 40 x 40cm mounted on frame 42.5 x 42.5 x 2.8cm

Singapore
Switzerland based Singaporean mixed media artist with a strong passion for painting. Art is not a birth given talent, and Kelly Ng Shah is a prime example of that. None of her family members were artistic let alone interested in the field. She would start with craft work such as knitting, rug making, and clay work at the age of five, spending hours and hours matching the colored yarns to create distinctive crafts. That combination of knits, colors, and eagerness to express her inner self drew her to sketching and painting. Her love for watercolors, oil, soft pastels, charcoal, and resin caused her to enroll herself in both public and private education to learn different techniques. Bright colors, multi-layering, shading, and the use of gold and silverleaf characterize Kelly’s paintings, which are best expressed via acrylics. A prominent and careful eye for colors stands out in every painting, reflecting her personality. Bolder choices of colors with sharp defined areas within the canvas highlight her numerous obstacles in life that she conquered through her creative outlet. She has since been following the flow, letting the environment that surrounds her guide her hand. Periods of isolation and silence help her to recharge and redefine the hidden details in her paintings, often interjecting sessions for each piece. Her art is a series of ideas and cannot simply be completed with one give and go, leading her to revise each piece after sitting with them for a while.
