STATEMENT Michele creates work that serves as a playful, meditative counterbalance to a world often defined by rigid categorization and certainty. Inspired by music, nature, travel, and conversation, she uses the language of color, form, and organic shape to explore the emotional landscape. Her paintings evolve intuitively, with gestural lines, saturated colors, and whimsical marks coming together to form abstract stories that invite viewers into a deeply personal visual experience. For Michele, painting is an on-going cathartic process and attempt to express what is often too hard to put into words. __ BIO Michele de la Menardiere is an abstract painter based in San Francisco, California. She has exhibited her work in national and international galleries and her paintings are part of private and corporate collections such as the DC Commission for the Arts and Humanities, Nokia, One Medical, and Westin Hotels. Michele’s art has also been exhibited and acquired by the U.S. State Department’s Art in Embassies Program and is part of several public art projects indulging a large-scale installation at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Arlington, VA. Her paintings have been featured in prominent media outlets including The Washington Post, on the set of KQED’s Check, Please! Bay Area, and in Sotheby’s multimillion dollar home stagings. Michele is a graduate of Chelsea College of Art and Design in London, England.
