Nicolas Retrivi, from “La Comarca Andina”, Patagonia Argentina, grow up in an artistic environment, influenced by rich nature and alternative cultures. Son of an art teacher and an event and art spaces producer, since his childhood he was passionate about drawing and painting, a passion that never left. It took him, in 2006 when he was 20, to Europe to live his artistic adventure. During his time in Spain he made several exhibitions in bars and small galleries in Madrid. Performing his paintings of medium and small format, on the street, in proximities of art museums and city squares, achieving immediately a modest success that allowed him to be in intimate contact with people from different countries, and with the works of the great Spanish artists, in his constant visits to museums that alternated in its whole days painting outdoors. These constants street painting sessions became his livelihood and lifestyle. Which over the years took him to other places in Europe: Andalucia, Valencia, Catalunia, then Paris, Holland and from 2010 in Rome (Italy) where he has his art studio. From his stay in Spain, apart from the canvases, lot of its production was based on wooden fans as support for his paintings, which today are almost all over the world. His paintings in large part acrylics and oils, ranging from surrealism/ symbolism and decorative art to Figurative and abstractism. In his works feelings swing between perceived reality, and new compositions of reality that highlights the magic presence in people and places.
