ABOUT THE ARTWORK
I created this image to represent the devastating after affects of sexual assault. That empty, hollow feeling of being stripped to your bones. The skeleton in this image has the potential to rise but her wings are tattered. She's made it through but still has a great deal of healing to do. Her bones represent a kind of death while the wings are a symbol of life. She is the reality of both life and death coexisting in all of us.
