Justīne Seile-Urtāne specializes in two areas, illustrations and portrait painting. Using tick colors and expressive brush strokes, she explores light, shade and vibrant colors that's found in nature all around. Justīne has fulfilled her childhood dream of becoming an artist by studying portrait painting in art academy of Latvia. During high school, she attended the Ventspils Youth Centre fine art studio, which marked the beginning of her journey toward painting. Artist Mārīte Kluša taught her all the basics, starting with the cube. She also took several art courses to learn the fundamentals of drawing and painting. After high school, Justīne moved to Liepāja, where she studied arts for two years at the "Liepāja College of Design, Arts and Music." Following this period, she was accepted into the "Art Academy of Latvia," where she earned both a Bachelor's and a Master's degree in painting over seven years. Justīne describes her style and works as everyday documentation with a touch of irony. Her pieces are narrative, precise, and detailed compositions executed in the traditions of realism.Justīne has held two major solo exhibitions: one at the "Grand Poet Hotel" in Riga and another at the Talsi Museum’s exhibition hall. She has also participated in several smaller exhibitions and group shows. Her works are included in personal collections in Latvia, the USA, and Austria. She has participated in the Liepāja "Karosta Festival," where she painted flowers and mushrooms throughout a prison cell, and was a three-time finalist in Lithuania's "Young Painters Prize."In recent years, Justīne has actively worked on illustrating books and writing children's stories, expanding her creative endeavors
