About The Artwork

Agony in the Garden depicts Jesus last night in Gethsemane before he died. He felt desperate, his friends were asleep and he begged not to have to go through with what was ahead of him. The lowest moment in Jesus life. Yet there is a hope in the glowing colours and power within him, and in all of us, of the resurrection.

Judith Tutin is an Irish-born artist living in Cornwall, UK. She works in oil painting and cyanotype photography. Strongly influenced by Italian Catholic art history and 20th century colour field painting, Judith creates elemental textures, ethereal light and a sense of the eternal in her work.
