I was very much inspired by the shape of this special flower, which looks ancient, but also very modern, because of it's simplicity. I tried to paint it from an angle which can capture it's strange geometry.

I was born in Brasov, Romania, in 1982. I always had drawing and painting as a big part of my life, but my studies were mostly science-oriented, leading me to study architecture at the “Ion Mincu” University of Bucharest. After that I also studied makeup and calligraphy, because I was always being drawn to the perfection of form as a reflection of something deeper, a quality of harmony and equilibrium. I started painting again in 2013, after a painful time in my life, first as an emotional outlet, and later as a way of forcing myself to see the beauty surrounding me. Technically I usually fall back to oil paints, but I also work with soft pastels and watercolors. I love details and exploring them deeply. I tend to lose myself in trying to find perfection and meaning of shapes and strokes. I use bright, vibrant colours just enough to coax the viewer into a positive, lively mood. In the end, my ultimate goal is to have my art become a gift of peace and serenity and to touch the hearts of those who come in contact with it.
