ABOUT THE ARTWORK
The work was written based on the ancient heritage. It is based on the myth of the apple. According to legend, this apple caused a quarrel between three female goddesses - Hera, Athena and Aphrodite. The young man Paris was called to judge them. They tried to win him over to their side, promising to make him the most powerful ruler (Hera), the bravest hero (Athena) or the owner of the most beautiful woman (Aphrodite). He awarded this apple to Aphrodite, who for this helped him steal Helen, the wife of the Spartan king Menelaus. This still life is part of that time.
