With a very traditional, multilayered approach to painting, Amos Osemwengie creates pieces which embodies the essence of being human while fulfilling his undying love for his practice. Using oils as his primary medium, The self-taught artist who hails from Nigeria, captures his melanated figures with intricate textures that exudes rawness, life and vitality. His figures are painted to feel as though they are breathing and his flowers/leaves are painted to feel as though they are dancing. The artist draws great inspiration from every aspects of nature, the resilience of the human spirit, the things that have stood the test of time, and also what connects us intricately between various facets of life.
