Aura of Streams Print

This artwork is a part of a yearlong study I completed in an effort to recreate the colors and patterns I often intuitively see as I'm giving a psychic reading. To broaden my understanding and relationship with color, I examined the energy of various general emotions and of experiences that invoke specific emotions (such as observing an element in nature.) My intention was to create a piece of artwork that would essentially transcend space and time, so that the viewer could also experience such emotion. Aura of Streams was created while watching water cascade across rocks in a small stream local to my hometown. While it's flow was steady, the pattern was interrupted by the reflecting light of the sun and the movement against the sharp edges of the rocks. Emotionally it was a very calming experience, symbolic of the flow of life itself. While on our journey we may feel that we are pulled in many directions and thrown against hard experiences, ultimately our fluidity is constant. Our softness smooths the sharp edges and we are always moving forward toward a deeper understanding.
