Technique: Mixed technique Acrylic / oil / natural pigments. Support: Wooden frame and support (raw dmf 0.3 cm) prepared in tempera (hot glues and lithopone. Size: 50 x70 x 3.5 cm. Framing: dark stained wooden frame 56x 76 x 5cm. Signature: signed at the bottom left. Madrid 2018. This this series, the subject represents something that I have not dealt with throughout my life as a painter, because if the sea exerted a powerful attraction and could become one of my subjects to interpret, the respect it infused me did not allow me to even these last years to face him. Being in Cadiz, Spain, where I have most felt this force that forced me to consider how to bring this feeling to painting, I have faced with anxiety and fear in the face of challenge and doubt. The light of this part of the world and the way of life of its people have strongly influenced my work, in which I try to show this personal vision. I use textures as the movement between light and the materials that make up this landscape. The materials used and the classical overtones somehow place this work close to abstraction. The license that I allow myself when interpreting what I see, is a cure of humility and not pride, since trying to imitate the color of nature in any case is nothing more than audacity on my part, but because of my professional condition it is stronger the honest impulse to express publicly without shame what I feel.
