ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Betrayal of Merlin is one of a four part series of watercolor paintings inspired by the King Arthur Legends. My interest is to bring a dreamlike and magical quality to the themes of death, mortality, and the fantasies of living for forever. Watercolor brings illumination and softness to a scene of dark magic and mysticism to this scene of Nimue as she walks away with the powers of Merlin after betraying him with his own magic.
