About The Artwork
The work was created by contemporary Kazakh artist Leyla Makhat in 2018. The main source of inspiration for the artist is nature. A rich palette draws the viewer's attention, the spatial solution, in turn, creates the possibility of meditative contemplation. The sky is a symbol of infinity, a structure that connects various spheres of existence. Movement of the clouds is depicted through a bright colour composition and horizontal tonal divisions of the painting plane. The diptych was exhibited at Leyla Makhat's solo exhibition in Astana.
