This work represents a time of experimentation and exploration of the realist genre for me. Painted in homage to Chuck Close one of the founding members of the American Realist movement of the 1960's.Specifically in his grid style, a grid of one inch squares drawn on the canvas and a scaled grid drawn on the source image. Each square on the canvas is an interpretation of the source image communicated in varying shades of magenta shapes drawn as squares, circles, triangles and x's.

b.1962 Biloxi, Mississippi, USA. I live and work in the great state of New Jersey, down and to the left of the center of the art world; New York, NY. I paint for the passion derived from the process, hopeful that the works I produce will be viewed as relevant now and enduring through time. I am most comfortable working in the realist manner as is probably apparent from my work. For examples of additional works please click on the "Website" link provided at the bottom of this page.
