Billie Print

I painted this portrait of Billie Eilish after watching the documentary movie "The World is a little blurry" and being struck by the strong paradox between people’s perception of Billie and my own, between the image of a dark and depressed teen and my idea of a luminous and gifted child with an outpouring of creativity. When Billie posted a picture of her new platinum blond hair on Instagram in March 2021, I was blown away and decided to paint her right away. In my vision she is a luminous angel and a creative genius in constant evolution. Her lifeforce and her determination struck me and I felt compelled to show that with bright colors, and strong contrasts. I do think that her image changes match my vision of a multifaceted and growing artist.
