Anja Sieber digitally processes copies of her well chosen documents found online, prints the results out to the largest possible format and uses a specific technique to make paper and content her base for painting. After drying, she takes up the visible swings of the writing lines and typographies in a performative act of gestural rewriting. This constant writing, which takes place with intensive physical effort, this feeling for lines and text leads to overpaintings and condensations, which are now on the original text. A new "text" is born. Through these gestural layers of writing, relief-like structures are partly formed. Thus the work of the artist is on the one hand abstraction, on the other hand however optically, haptically and spatially concretely sensually perceptible. Her paintings have colorful and blown up color segments, broad material flows and raised line patterns. The screenshots used in this series of works are articles from the New York art magazine "Hyperallergic". They were taken and digitally changed during an "Artist-in-Residency" in Zurich in Summer 2018. Since the host is also the owner of a large print shop, several large formats and countless other paper sizes lay on the floor of her studio after just a few days. On all of these sheets, Anja Sieber created a typical connection between text and art, painting and writing, performance and resonance during the following 12 month which you see here.
