Blossom Print

My work is largely inspired by the way I dream. I've experimented with many mediums in order to achieve visually how I 'see' in my dreams. I can only express my own vision, which I try to convey in this series through the heavy usage of inks. I've chosen this method to create depth, allowing the colours to bleed in order to blend, but also explore distortion and blur as experienced when dreaming. There is still an element of detail, however, this is limited to reflect the difficulty in seeing things as sharply in dreams. The absence of detail, but the knowledge of its presence in reality I have tried to demonstrate in my pieces. The viewer may feel their mind distort the image, filling in the gaps of detail they would otherwise perceive in waking life.
