This painting is part of a collection of nine paintings that represents an evolution of the artist's style influenced by chinese ink paintings. This painting in teal, gold and white inks see a greater abstraction of the artist's work. The style of this painting and others in the collection is inspired predominantly by mountains, seen in the background, that are covered with overlays of designs. Inspired by the spontaneous blossoming growth of life in nature, this painting represents the flow, beauty and abundance of life that surrounds us. The melting mountains and beautiful golden designs of movement throughout the paintings are reminiscent of organic lines found in nature. Working with ink is symbolic because it is unique in its flow and interaction with water and the paper. It can be a therapeutic process to witness and experience the ink flow and absorption and interaction with the layers. There is a growth in understanding when to let go and control the flow of ink, which is reflective of knowing when to let go and control things in life.

Caribbean artist with influences from beautiful and vibrant biodiversity in her home country, Trinidad and Tobago. Having a playful and dynamic artistic style that is experimental, she explores different styles, from using vibrant and fauvist inspired palettes to a monchrome. She is primarily inspired by Chinese landscape ink paintings that have evolved into a more contemporary expressive style. Her most recent works consist of monchromatic ink paintings that see a greater abstraction of forms, expression and playfulness in design overlays. Her use of ink is therapeutic and meditative where one has to understand the natural flow of ink and how it interacts with layers, water and the paper in creating forms.
