ABOUT THE ARTWORK
I literally had a dream -which became a nightmare-about this image. Woke up suddenly, did the painting as near as possible and went back to sleep. I had done a painting 15 years ago called "Blue Basquiat" in homage to his death, but this image was about Basquiat being alive and having to deal with art snobbery.
