On a rainy day, the blue color of the door uplifted the mood. The blue was highlighted by the subtle greys in the scene. The rusty bicycle added charm to the scene. I also wanted to recreate the effect of torn posters and the rough textures of the old wall. So did some collage work by pasting these handmade posters and tearing some portions of those. Also used a rough grain paper to replicate the textures of the wall. This painting won the ‘Outstanding Watercolor’ Award in Boldbrush online art contest organized by FASO in the US in July this year.
