Christine Deckert was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba in 1976. She received her B.F.A from the University of Manitoba in 2000, and went on to do a B.Ed with a specialization in Art in 2003. Deckert has been working as an art specialist and educator since 2005 in both private and public sectors, while establishing herself as an artist. Christine's most recent work, whose style is mainly based on minimalist oceanscapes, is influenced by the landscape of British Columbia where she lived for several years. Christine describes her paintings as "a process of exploration, a manipulation of colour, an analysis of design and composition. My intent is to create calm, serene and natural paintings that convey my experience at the ocean, or in any natural environment. My paintings are my representation of the simplicity and beauty that I find in nature. This is where my spiritual, and creative development flows, and evolves." Christine's client base consists of designers, art lovers, collectors, restaurant owners, interior decorators. Her art has been sold locally and internationally, and been included in publications in Canada.
