This original watercolor painting depicts a stunning blue jay perched on a fence post, captured in profile with exquisite detail. The bird's striking blue and white feathers are beautifully rendered, blending seamlessly into the muted, splashing watercolor background. Measuring 5x7, this piece is presented in a classic wood frame behind glass, ready to be displayed and admired. A must-have for any bird lover or art enthusiast, this watercolor blue jay is a true work of art. Painting Size: 5x7 unframed One of a kind artworkWatercolor on 100 percent cotton paper. I use Arches because I love the way it's texture allows me to use many different techniques. I spray all my watercolor paintings with an acrylic sealant. I will ship this artwork in a box securely protected.I have it backed with foam core acid free, under glass in a custom solid wood frame with a dustcover so it will be ready for you to hang in your home or office. The frame is designed and created by the artisan, Johnny Simpson from reclaimed wood. He is a perfectionist in his craft and your frame is built to last. The frame adds to the overall excitement of the picture while blending very well with many different home decor styles.

I am Paula Bridges, born and raised in Texas. My favorite thing to do is to combine my art with travel. Having worked in the airline industry since 1986, I have been able to combine these two passions. Although I do plein air painting, my main practice is to take photos and bring them back to my studio where I bury myself in watercolor. My love for watercolor has grown out of the challenge it presents. Water and pigment flow in a semi uncontrolled way and I enjoy creating a painting from this process using bold bright colors with different levels of value. I do like to paint animals; however, landscapes are my love with a never ending supply of subjects from all over the world. After I complete a painting, I always send it to my 86 year old mother to critique. She was my first inspiration to paint being an artist herself.
