Daniel Zimmerman is an Atlanta based artist. His large scale works are created using oil on canvas. Zimmerman explores themes of growth, potential, anticipation, and joy. Just the joyful, rigorous business of beauty “I grew up in very rural Mississippi,” he says, “and there were many parts of it I didn’t appreciate at the time. As a young person, you don’t know you’re making memories until much later. Now, I look back and smile. Most of my great memories are tied to the outdoors—the sights, the scents of nature.” That tether—between artist and self, between viewer and feeling, between land and light and brushstroke—is what makes his work quietly powerful.
