Influenced by the musicalities that surround him, the word that is most striking, that brings more meaning related to his past or everyday life, he writes them in an abstract and intuitive form, influenced by the gesture of the graffiti that inspires him The Abstrapixa work series, which started in 2020, seeks to explore calligraphy and words as a gesture, image and feeling. Each work has a word almost stripped of reading in its most formal and abstract sense, leaving it with the similarity of the design of a symbol and its meaning. In this process, the alphabet and language are transformed into an abstract figure, drawn in a rhythmic and chaotic manner. As a visual artist and a resident of a large city like Santo André, André Caligari cannot help but observe, admire and be fascinated by the art of graffiti on the walls in the form of protests and rebellion throughout the city. In this series, the influence of style is noticeable due to its agility, gestures, created forms and the proposed reading of the painted symbol. The word while written has no meaning, but when it becomes a drawing, writing takes on meaning and sensation.

André Caligari, 31 years old, born in Santo André, visual artist and tattoo artist. He started his creations from an early age, making caricatures and collages on paper, and in his first drawing courses he began to understand and respect the entire creative process, he went through several workshops, but when he got to know Nicolas Lopez's landscapes, it was his passion for abstraction started. André Caligari's abstract paintings are based on questioning, provocation and the chaotic beauty he observes. In his work, he follows the line of working with shadows and contrasts, seen both in natural elements and in mundane objects, which are provided in abundance by everyday life, always bringing Chaos and poetics in their abstractions. His current series are inspired by portraits of landscapes to graffiti on city walls. His paintings incite an exploratory and tireless search on the subject and on the papers that his creations repeat, he tries to maintain the balance between the contrast of colors, from empty to full, from dark to light. but always leaving the fluidity and naturalness of his most visceral work to prevail as his greatest mark in his abstractions
