About the Artist

A Gazkob

Spain

My creative process is shaped by a law degree, a corporate background in finance , and years living across Japan, Africa and european countries.Today I continue expanding my artistic language throught my studies in fine arts. Moving away from classical academic constraints, I embrace an intuitive, raw, and highly expressive creative process.I love to express whatever experiences and ideas I have, and to create characters and strange/surreal animals, plants, and anything else. Nothing is set in my head.I draw mainly with markers and wax, and paint on canvas and paper mostly with acrylics. I use a brush, and sometimes a palette knife and sponge.I really like fauvism and impressionism, as well as artists like Matisse, Van Gogh, Gauguin, Arcimboldo, Picasso and the graphic designer Milton Glaser. On the other hand, I think minimalism and figurative styles can be very inspiring, and surrealism or cubism can be very creative.I love color and intensity, and I give great importance to the aesthetics of an image. I like images that capture attention quickly. I enjoy expressing ideas, cultures, and social realities. I like people who have a sense of humor and those who are able to sometimes use humor in their creations—why not?
