The image of a person praying in the everyday surroundings of their room is something that really inspires me. The phrase 'birds fly, fish swim, and people pray' comes to mind. About the Artist

Tim Patrick Painter

United Kingdom

I am a contemporary painter based in London and the South.

I love painting directly from observation, working in the light of the environment and allowing the subject to be discovered as I paint. Much of my practice revolves also around drawing - working from life in sketchbooks and bringing these back to the studio to develop into paintings. I feel a real interest in 19th Century artists such as George Bellows and the Ashcan school, whose aims regarding the observation of the world as we find it, are not dissimilar to my own. I am passionate about the drawing and painting from observation, and have since my early years, been fascinated with figurative painting.
