ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Break Apart by Amanda Cameron is one of my 'Ocean Series' paintings and investigates the interaction and connection between expressive paint strokes, realism and colour. Amanda’s work is focused on the quest for finding refuge, quietness and escapism. Some [paintings] focus on the lone swimmer, the few minutes of introspection when submerged in the warm quiet of the water, and others investigate the interaction of people within various aspects of the landscape. This piece focuses on the use of expressive brush strokes, the use of various types of mark-making and a move away from detailed realism. This piece comes framed in a quality floating white box frame, ready to hang, with gloss varnish for protection and a certificate of authenticity.

Amanda Cameron is an artist based on the Gold Coast, Australia, who started her career as a Graphic/Web Designer and Multimedia artist, which developed into a love of oil painting. She is predominantly self-taught, and in her career as an artist, she has been a finalist and award recipient in a number of prestigious Australian Art Awards, including the Mortimore Art Prize, D’Arcy Doyle Art Prize, Lethbridge 10000, Border Art Prize and Rotary Art Prize amongst others. She has exhibited in several group and solo shows and is currently represented by Lethbridge Gallery, Brisbane, Australia and KAB Gallery, NSW, Australia.
