About the Artist

Kate Geiger

United States

I am a realist painter rooted in figurative painting and portraiture, although I have a deep love of all representational painting including still lifes and botanical art. While painting is my true vocation, I am drawn to anything creative, including home decor, photography, graphic design, sewing, and calligraphy—all of which have all influenced my art in some away or another.

I earned my BFA from Rosemont College and my MFA from the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts. Since completing my degrees, I have worked as a free lance commission artist, part time adjunct art professor, bartender, and professional party clown. From 2014-2016, I was a member of the 3rd Street Gallery in Philadelphia where I served as secretary and events coordinator. I have shown my work locally and throughout the country and it is included in private collections in both Philadelphia and New York.

My husband Shawn is a professional chef and we live just outside Philadelphia with our two young sons, Harry and Riley, and our mini lop bunny Beaux.
