ABOUT THE ARTWORK
November 11, 2021: I had another visit from my 3am muse. Brought my easel beside my bed and painted by the light of my iPad, Caravaggio style. Looking at my nocturnal handiwork the next morning, particularly the thin, jagged lines that dissect the picture , the song ‘Broken Strings’ sung by James Morrison and Nelly Furtado came to mind. A contemporary unravelling-love song, I also feel the title describes the widening disconnect from each other that we are all experiencing in one way or another, due to technology.
